Sweety Glass Hire - Letchworth Wedding Fair

Hi Lindsay,
Yesterday, the sweet cart & I exhibited at a new venue, the 'Arcade' in our lovely town of Letchworth.
There was a relaxed atmosphere and a great mix of stallholders and shopkeepers enjoying themselves in this lovely venue, with a catwalk to add that extra magic.
Once again, I was on my quest to find romantic men in Hertfordshire, however you will be surprised to hear that it was the ladies who took centre stage.
Proposals from two ladies attracted my attention, which I would like to share with you:
Proposal 1:
Ally had organsied a specially designed T-Shirt for her young son to wear so that he could propose to his Dad on her behalf.
On one side it read "Daddy Will You Marry Mummy". On the other side it read "If Not, Can We Get A Dog ?"
Proposal 2:
It was 28 Feb, Lisa only had only one more day to keep her Leap Year proposal a secret.
Unfortunately she left her mobile phone at work, which a colleague kindly dropped off at her home.
A simple text message on her phone 'hope the proposal goes well tomorrow' alerted Lisa's partner to her plans.
The game was up, but inspite of this, they both decided to carry on as normal, as if nothing had happened.
The next morning, Lisa arrived outside her partner's workplace, asked him to come outside and she got down on one knee with a Haribo ring in her hand and proposed.
It was an instant 'Yes!' reply.
I can't wait until the next wedding Fayre!

'Sweety Glass Hire'

Hi Lindsay,
Many congratulations on organising a fabulous wedding fayre last Sunday at
Shenley Cricket Ground.
The venue oozes charm, is so quintessentially English and the staff were so
kind and welcoming.

In between promoting my 'Sweety Glass Hire' I was also on my quest to seek
out romantic men in Hertfordshire and was delighted to hear all the tales
and lengths to which men go to when planning a proposal. The holiday
proposal was very popular including separate proposals at both the top and
bottom of the Eiffel Tower, the razor with no batteries in the compartment
so that it could hide an engagement ring.

One proposal in particular stood out above the rest, which I would like to
share with you.

'Alex proposed to Lori outside a shop in Brighton. Not just any shop, but
'ChoccyWoccyDooDah'.
In the front window of the shop was a specially commissioned cake with the
words: 'Lori will you marry me?' inscribed on it.
The shop and cake have also featured in a TV documentary.

Wedding Fayres aren't just about promoting your business, I consider it a
great honour to share peoples' stories on what is going to be one of the
most wonderful days of their lives. Like all girlies, I love a Happy Ending!

Take care,
Tracey

My Events Made Easy's Tips for Brides and Grooms

Top 10 Tips for the Ushers
It’s a great honour to be asked to be an Usher, so it’s important that you live up to the happy couples expectations.
Part of job besides helping the Best Man with the stag night, there are things that can be done on the day to help with the smooth running your best friend wedding, so be in touch with the Best man to see what needs to be done.
1.             Be prepared to go to the rehearsal if you are asked.
2.    Be sure you arrive at the Wedding Venue before the groom, check out where everything is so you can guide the guests if asked.
3.    Usually there are between 2 – 4 ushers, decide who is best suited to be responsible for the bride’s party or the groom’s party
4.    If attending a church wedding collect the order of service and hand out to the guests as they arrive. This also is the case with buttonholes if being supplied. Make sure everyone know if there is any restriction about confetti or photos being taken during the ceremony.
5.    Direct guest to their seats at lest 15 minutes before the start of the ceremony. Make sure you have the reserved name sheets put on the correct seats and know who is sitting where. It is normal for the groom’s family to be seated on the right and the Brides family on the left.
6.    Check that any parents with young children are sitting on the end of a row near an exit if possible – in case they have to get up and leave!
7.    Escort the Mother of the Bride to her place also at that time remind her to leave 5 steps behind the newly married couple after the ceremony as this help the photographers get good pictures of the new couple as they leave.
8.    Make sure you know which bridesmaids you are escorting out; this can be sorted out before hand.
9.    The Ushers should side at the back or near the exits to assist anyone arriving late. You should also be at your place before the bride and her father arrives
10. Before leaving for the reception, check that none of the guests                   have left anything behind. At the reception help guests find their place for the breakfast via the table plan.

MoreSouth

Summer time, and the living is...

Well many people go on holiday in August, don't they? If you are very fortunate you might have been on a trip to the Mediterranean , like MoreSouth did this time last year.
But a holiday is just as much to do with Time as Place. It can be as simple as a good change, or a surprise. Read the latest MoreSouth blog and choose whether you'd like a Spa breakfast or a Balcony breakfast. Friends over for brunch (yes, there are some recipes too) or just Breakfast in Bed?
There's even a Team GB London 2012 delicacy for those who are morning people to make their less energetic partners. And we all know that there is an intimacy about breakfast that cannot be recreated in even the most gourmet restaurant dinner.
Get the recipe, read the latest blog here.

Kir Royale, anyone?

Have you joined us on the MoreSouth facebook page yet? Some of the MoreSouth facebook  friends do not need to go on holiday because, like photographer Stephen Bray, they live on a mediterranean beach! A traditionally med way of celebrating the beginning of a long summer evening is with a Kir. Find out how on our page, as well as info on what The Mediterranean Diet is, and what chef Bill Granger says you should be giving your family instead of processed dishes.
We are always pleased to hear from you and the Page is a great place for sharing your foodie pictures and tips. And as a treat, here is one of the photos Stephen took.

Reception Timelines

Reception Timelines: Looking for some ideas on how to plan the timeline for your wedding reception? Here is a sample timeline that works for a 4-hour planned reception. You can adjust it as needed to mesh with your own timeframes. The average wedding reception lasts about three hours when a served meal is included. A buffet wedding reception may last a little less than that.

Sample Wedding Reception Timeline:

  • 0-30 Minutes - Pictures take of the wedding party; guests begin arriving at the wedding reception location. Drinks are available and music should be playing as a part of the backdrop for the guests to mingle and enjoy.
  • 30-90 Minutes – Guests are invited to sign the guest book and are shown to their seats if seating chart is dictated. The wedding party arrives at the reception and if a receiving line is planned for, that also begins
  • 60-120 Minutes – Guests will be seated for the dinner or the buffet is opened. The wedding party is served first, traditionally they must also go through the buffet line first as well. Wine and champagne may be served and the toasts begin, traditionally beginning with the best man
  • 120-180 Minutes – The first dance begins and the cutting of the cake. If food courses are being served, they should be winding down. Other traditional dances are done including father/daughter and mother/son dances
  • 180-240 Minutes – The last hour of the reception, the meal is wound down and the bouquet is tossed along with the garter. The bride and groom are sent off to their honeymoon.
  • 240- 270 Minutes - The reception wines down with the parents of the bride and the groom seeing guests off before the reception ends formally
